predator

poetry by Sophia Tempest Parsons

predator

I’m always licking
where it hurts, you’re always

dropping dead birds at my feet
trying to teach me how to love

a neutral death

poetry by Sophia Tempest Parsons

a neutral death

a cicada

struggling for life

in the mouth of a lizard

sounds the same

as any other cicada

ήλιος

poetry by Sophia Tempest Parsons

ήλιος

the sun talks to me

says her head hurts

isn’t that

just the trajectory of time

the rotation of an ache
